July 31, 6pm-10pm: "Tranquil Spaces" Art Exhibit and Open House at Healing Hands Wellness Center.  The exhibition includes a recent collection of paintings and collages by Los Angeles artist, Dani Vinokurov.

Dani Vinokurov's paintings and collages incorporate pattern, texture and repetition to depict landscapes, both as a physical place and an ethereal, emotional space.  She mixes her studies of traditional, historical and ethnic textile design with her childhood experiences living, playing and growing up in the outdoors to create tranquil and dream-like scenery. Using a combination of ancient dyeing techniques, delicate paper-cuts, meticulous stitching, and intimately inked patterns and textures, Dani Vinokurov's paintings and collages explore the meaning of place.
